Lets talk about Harvey and Irma and some things I think should be noted.
First and foremost, to everyone with friends and family in the affected areas, I truly hope that they are safe and well. The devastation in Houston is unimaginable.
Here is the amount of water fallen on the areas affected over Milwaukee for a size comparison:

Shell’s North American headquarters resides in Houston and has been largely out of commission since Harvey blasted through. Luckily for us, a lot of our lubes come from other areas around the US, so service has been virtually unaffected in that regard.
Many of our friends and associates down there have experienced the flooding and have been working to help neighbors.
Ben Van Beurden, CEO of Shell wrote an inspiring piece about Harvey and the resilience of the company he is proud to work for: HERE. Shell has donated $1 Million to relief efforts last I knew, with other oil majors following suit.
Locally, companies in the trades have stepped up to help as well! Bane-Nelson Inc in Kenosha is collecting donations to fill a trailer headed for Houston

Electrical contractors Intern and MJ Electric are currently staging massive teams to help with power outages for both Irma and Harvey. A news source in Corpus Christi featured a quote on MJ helping HERE.

With Irma bearing down on Florida and possibly the coast, relief efforts and fundraising will continue to be needed. If you or your company are working to help, please let me know so I can post information and spread the word!
