There is something to be said about energy and aura. Im a firm believer that the energy you put into something is the exact amount of energy you will get back in return. I apply this to my relationships, my work, my hobbies, everything. It keeps me in check, so that I can stop and analyze whether or not I am applying the adequate amount of effort and energy to a project when I realize I am not getting the desired result. That being said, once the energy is returned (a sale, a reward, happiness in a relationship; any desired outcome really) there is momentum that comes along with it. This is a philosophy I have heard of many times in the sales world. “keep that momentum up! Ride that momentum wave! etc”. You don’t really think about it until it happens.
In the past week (since last Monday) I have closed six accounts. SIX ACCOUNTS. Thats about three months worth of sales in this industry at the rate of an average sales person. Last week it was four and now two more have followed suit. I completely relate it to the momentum wave; the energy and aura that I now emit in the new found confidence from the sales. Of course, I also attribute it to the large amounts of energy and effort devoted over the last five months; carefully built rapport and establishing real relationships. People buy from people, not salesmen. I actively listen to everything they say. One prospect mentioned that he was going to spend the weekend plating Irises in his yard after i’d wished him a good one. That was the first time I had ever met him, and so when I returned to drop off a quote a few weeks later, I left him a small potted Iris as well.
People pick up on a strong positive energy from someone and will consequently begin to associate the person with the happiness they felt. My newfound sales have given me such an energy and I can’t help but beam everywhere I go. Look out Chicago, Wendy is coming for your oil business.
Great weather is also a plus:
A pleasant day in Pleasant Prairie, WI.
Breath taking skies after today’s storms – even some Mammatus clouds in the distance.
Yesterday’s storm rolling through Arlington Heights.
If I were in a cubicle somewhere, I would have missed these.
