Its no secret that I love visiting the local quarries and mines. ..especially in the winter. There’s something about the way the cascading ground water freezes down the rock walls…

The conveyors that are usually clanging and moving tons of rock, sit quiet and snow covered.
The cold sun rises and creates beautiful Sundogs on the horizon thanks to ice crystals in the air.

I love the way the it casts shadows around the equipment…

The machines that are always so busy throughout the warm months, patiently await the spring thaw…

..And just like that, the sun sets and leaves the quarry in twighlight before anyone else.

So peaceful and mesmerizing.
….now none of this peace and quiet is good for business but it sure is neat to experience!
