Golfing for Diesel

As many of you know I joined the Fleet Maintenance Council of Southeastern WI last year and found myself in the role of Secretary shortly after. I love this association and what it stands for. Together we meet for continuing our industry education and give back to community through fundraisers and diesel related scholarships.

To raise the money for the scholarships, an annual golf outing is held.

In 2016-2017 we were able to give away $8,000 in scholarships for diesel students thanks to last year’s golf outing.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the diesel industry along with many other trade related careers, is in a crisis for talent as millennials gear towards tech and marketing positions. As a council it is our goal to help get youth interested in our field so positions can be filled. If you or someone you know is interested in pursuing a diesel related career, we can help!

That being said, this year’s outing was a huge success and we were able to raise over $10k for next year’s fund.

While I was busy with my Secretary duties, Keller Heartt had a foursome who brought up the rear with the worst score of the day! The trophy for the losing group was a lovely gold plunger!

We could not have asked for better weather or a more generous group of golfers to make this our most successful outing yet!
