One should never assume what their customer’s do in their spare time or for hobbies. Especially in the case of Ted Mazurski of R. Olson Construction in Roselle, IL. He happens to be the coach and officiator for the IL State Rifle Association’s Junior High Power Rifle Team; The Hard Dogs! He once told me that he and his children are the only family in the history of IL to all obtain official “Marksman” status.
The Hard Dogs usually practice and have their meets at the ISRA range down in Kankakee. Lucky for me they hosted a fundraiser match at OnTarget Range in Crystal Lake. This was a my first match and I had a blast!
We shot M4’s donated by DS Arms using Iron Sights at 25 yards and in a standing position. Ten rounds were given to use for practice and then we had to land 30 official shots for a score within a 40 minute time frame. Each round had to be loaded separately. This turned out to be much more difficult than it sounds.

My shots may look all over the place, but out of the three women who shot, I was able to come out on top!
Thanks Ted for this awesome experience! I hope you were able to raise some decent funds for the team. I am again aware of how badly I need to practice.
